I have grouped these places together, as they are all within a 5 minute walk of each other. Tala square is a great little place to while away a few hours, little bit of history, followed by some excellent food, and drink, what more could you want……

Probably best to take a car for this journey (or taxi), there is a bus which would drop off on the main road, (use the “moovit app” for timetables etc) but there is quite a hill to climb to the square, maybe best left to those of us who identify as part mountain goat.

A small picturesque village square, hosting numerous tavernas, and the beautiful Genethlion Sotiros church. The church was built during 2011-2012, a picturesque building, worth a visit.

Mario’s (opens 11.00-12.00 am)

A local taverna, very popular with the ex-pats, great service and a great choice of beers and spirits at competitive prices. Food is served until 17.00, more of a snack menu, but exceptionally well done, and great value for money. The two lads who work during the day are attentive and always have a warm welcome for us.

Melitzia Taverna

A family run restaurant, which has been part of the village for many years, the food, service and setting are all outstanding.

The pictures are of the house specialities, Moussaka, Lamb Kleftiko, Beef Stifado, Melitzia salad.

Booking is highly recommended, especially if you want an outside tabled with a view, the restaurant doesn’t open until 17.00 hrs
